Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Surajpur taluk of
Sarguja District,
Chhattisgarh. It is named after the Tamor hill and Pingla nalla, the old and prominent features of the area.
Comprising Sal, mixed and bamboo forests, the area is under Ghui and Biharpur ranges of the South Sarguja Forest Division. Spread over 608 sq km, the sanctuary supports tiger, panther, bear,
sambar deer, blue bull, chital, bison, four-horned antelope, chinkara, barking deer, wild bear, wild dog, wolves, jackals, striped hyena, hare, cobra, nag, python, red jungle fowl, brown jungle fowl and green pigeon.
November to June is ideal to visit the sanctuary.
The sanctuary is aroudn 35 km west of Ambikapur. Anuppur Junction Railway Station is the major railhead nearby. Bishrampur Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
