Satnamis belong to
Chhattisgarh and they are the followers of Guru Ghasidas who founded the Satnampanth.
According to the teachings of their guru, wine, meat, idol worship, using cows for agricultural purposes and ploughing the field after sunset is prohibited. Satnamis worship Satnam based on the principles of truth, non-violence, universal brotherhood and equality. Satnami myths, songs and dances (panthi geet, panthi naach) are centered on the Gurus.
