Panka is a primitive tribe inhabiting
Bilaspur District of
Chhattisgarh. The tribe members are the followers of Kabir, a religious reformer of the 15th century.
Pankas are mainly weavers and laborers. They also manage their incomes from agriculture. Presently they are doing business in 'Kosa' textile. Pankas worship only Kabir.
