Bhagalpur Pillar, a mighty monolithic structure of 17 ft in height, is situated close to the banks of the Ghangra River in Bhagalpur of
Bihar. It bears a capital at the top, which constitutes of a circular slab supporting a cone. The central portion of the shaft has been hewn away with age. Its east face bears an inscription of 22 lines along with a short epigraph in English.
The pillar has been carved out of rough grey stand stone and is worshipped by the local populace. It is thought to have built in 900.
