Located in
Nalanda, Nav Nalanda Vihar, a modern center for Buddhist studies, was set up by Bihar Government in 1951. It strives to keep the ancient tradition of spreading knowledge alive.
The center primarily deals with research work on Buddhism and teaches Pali. A large number of students from different countries such as Sri Lanka, Japan, Korea, Tibet, and Bhutan come here for study and research.
Places of interest nearby are the ancient Nalanda University and the famous Lotus Pond.
