Pond Heron (Ardeola grayii) is a drab brown bird. When it launches into flight the white wings become visible. It is also called Paddy bird. It can be found in marshes, mangroves and mudflats. It is a solitary and shy bird.
Pond Heron can be seen in the Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary, Tamil Nadu.
