Muhammadpur




Muhammadpur is a village about 10 km south of Nizamabad, in Azamgarh District. The district headquarters, Azamgarh, lies to the north of it.

Anwak, a village of archeological importance which is believed to be the original site of the ‘Sarp Yagya’ organized by Maharaj Janamajey for killing all the snakes on the earth, is quite close to Muhammadpur.

Muhammadpur is well connected by road with Azamgarh, Didarganj, Sarai Kheta and Khuthan. Sarai Rani Railway Station and Varanasi Airport are 11 km and 70 km respectively from here.
