Manpathar, also referred to as Sita Charan, is a dried up rock memorial in the bed of river
Ganges. This massive rock is located two miles away from the
Munger Fort, near
Kastaharni Ghat. Manpathar, the ancient rock is 250 m long and 30 m wide. The rock bears the impression of two feet, which is believed to be that of
Sita, when she stepped on the rock while crossing the Ganges. A small mandir is situated in close proximity.
Bhagalpur Junction Railway Station is the closest railway station and the nearest airport is at Patna.
