Built by Captain John Garstir in 1786, Golghar, 29 m high, is a landmark of
Patna. It is a beehive-shaped building, and was built to store granary for the British army at the time of possible famine.
A unique feature of this massive structure is that its steps wind around the outside to the top. One can enjoy a spectacular view of the city and the Ganges River from here.
