Banka is the seat of administration of
Banka District. It is situated 200 km south-east of
Patna.
A trip to the Buddhist monasteries at
Bhagalpur and the Kshatriya Kund Gram and temples at Jamui constitute interesting excursions. The fifteen day long Makara Sankranti mela held on the Mandar hills is another major draw.
