Situated at a distance of about 300 km from Patna in Patna District of Bihar, the Kaimur Hills offer a panoramic view of nature. The Kaimur hills are the easternmost end of the Vindhyan range - the highest among these mountains rise up to 1200 ft above sea level.
The area around Kaimur hills are famous for rock paintings, belonging to the mesolithic period, depicting pre-historical lifestyle. These paintings are identical to those which were discovered in Spain and France. Rock shelter-I and Rock shelter-II situated at the top of the Kaimur hills are simply breath-taking.
