Pari Hareswar Devalay

Pari Hareswar Devalay is an ancient shrine of Lord Shiva, located at Dubi in Barpeta District of Assam. It is about 4 km south of Pathsala.

The temple also enshrines the image of Goddess Durga, which was donated by the famous Ahom King Shiva Singha. The king made land grants measuring about 760 Puras recorded in copper plate inscriptions.

Folklore says that Queen Fuleswari, the wife of Shiva Singha, was instrumental in bringing 'Devadasis' (temple dancers) from upper Assam to perform dances for the deities of this temple. The famous dance form 'Devadasi Nritya' is believed to have originated here.

Dubi is about 37 km north-east of Barpeta. The nearest railway station is at Barpeta Road.
