Kokrajhar is a small market town in
Kokrajhar District which serves as the district headquarters. It is one of the two revenue sub-divisions of the district situated close to the international border, between India and Bhutan. It also holds a number of army checkpoints.
Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary, which is just 5 km from the town, is the main attraction. Ripu-Chirang is a forest reserve of tourist interest.
The railway station is at Kokrajhar and the nearest airport is Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport, 236 km.
