Dibrugarh




Dibrugarh, the administrative headquarters of Dibrugarh District , is a beautiful town situated along the river Brahmaputra, in Assam. It is the largest tea-exporting town in India. Dibrugarh is about 439 km north-east of Guwahati. The name Dibrugarh is derived from the mouth (mukh) of the river Dibaru or Dibru.

Major tourist attraction is the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park (50 km). A stroll along the tea gardens, situated in and around the town, will be an enchanting experience.

Dibrugarh Airport is about 12 km from city center and the Dibrugarh Town Railway Station is at the center of the town. By road, National Highway 37 links Dibrugarh with Kaziranga, Sibsagar, Jorhat (136 km) and Tinsukia.
