Indian Airlines, fully owned by the Government of India, started its operations in 1953. Today Indian Airlines, together with its subsidiary Alliance Air, is one of the largest regional airline systems in Asia. The main flight operations are concentrated in the major metro cities of
New Delhi,
Mumbai,
Kolkata and
Chennai. With a fleet of around 60 aircrafts, Indian Airlines covers about 75 destinations, of which 57 are within India. Among international destinations are Kuwait, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Thailand, Singapore, Yangon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
