Founded in 1979, Srimanta Sankar Mutt is situated at
Tilapara near
Goalpara. The Puta Asthi (a bone of forehead) of Sri Srimanta Sankar dev, the great medieval Vaishnavite saint of Assam, is housed here. The mutt is thronged by followers of the sect.
Sri Satyanya Gaudiya Mutt, Paglartek Mandir, Bura Buri Mandir, and Narasingha Temple are other religious places worth visiting in the vicinity.
