Joypur is a small town located in
Dibrugarh District. In the middle of the 19th century, Christian missionaries had established the first church and the first printing press of
Assam here.
Joypur Reserve Forest is the prominent attraction. Eco-tourism is promoted here. Rain-forest festival is celebrated for a week.
Joypur is well connected with motor-able roads from Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsuki, Digboi, Duliajan and Namrup. Naharkatia is the nearest railway station. From Naharkatia, Joypur is only 20 minutes by bus.
