Charaideo is located in
Sibsagar District of
Assam and is 28 km east of
Sibsagar town. The first capital of Ahom kings, Charaideo was built by Sukapha - the founder of Ahom dynasty. Charaideo has 42 maidams (burial vaults) of Ahom family and are often compared to the pyramids of Egypt.
