Parashuram kund, holy bathing place for the Hindu devotees, is situated 20 km north-east of Tezu in
Arunachal Pradesh. Famous for its scenic beauty, it is the district headquarters of
Lohit. The place is dedicated to Parashuram, a mythological figure, who is said to have taught the art of warfare to the warriors in various mythologies. During Parasuram mela that usually falls in January, large numbers of devotees throng to this place. November to February is the ideal time to visit this place. It is accessible by air from Mohanbari, and rail and road from Tinsukia. Only foreign tourists with valid Protected Area Permit are permitted to enter.
