Himalayan Tahr
The Himalayan Tahr, a species of wild goat, has a finely formed head, narrow erect ears, a heavy body, and long limbs. It is locally known by the names tehr, jehr, kras, and jagla. It lives in terrains of towering cliffs, rocks, dense scrub, and forest. Tangled masses of coarse, flowing hair cover the body. The animal is generally deep reddish brown in colour. Jemlahicus, and Schaferi Pohle are the two races of Himalayan Tahr found in India. An old male is very dark, while females and young males are lighter brown in color.
