The fort at
Visakhapatnam was constructed in 1661 by the Dutch. Now it is in ruins. These fortifications form the oldest part of the city. A small river separates the fort from
Dolphin's Nose, another landmark. The remains of 18th century barracks, an array of old weapons, Court House, a Protestant church and cemetery are the highlights. Some European graves of 1699 are seen in the cemetery.
There is an airport and railway station at Visakhapatnam for fast and easy access.
