Tirumala Raya Mandapam

Anna Unjal Mandapam

Tirumala Raya Mandapam is in the Sri Venkateswara Temple at Tirupati. It lies near the Ranga Mandapam on the western side. Also called as Anna Unjal Mandapam, it consists of two different levels. In 1473, the southern or inner portion of this Mandapam was constructed to celebrate a festival for Sri Venkateshwara called Anna Unjal Tirunal. The mandapam has a typical complex of pillars, reflecting the Vijayanagar style of architecture. Some pillars produce musical notes when struck. Aina Mahal is on the northern side of the Tirumala Raya Mandapam.
