Sri Kadiri Lakshmi Narayana Temple is located at
Kadiri. The presiding deity of the temple is Narasimha swami, one of the incarnations of
Lord Vishnu. The idol is in the terrific form of 'Vugrarupa.' According to legend, Lord Vishnu took the form of
Narasimha to kill Hiranyakasipu.
A major pilgrim center of Anantapur District, the temple has a Rangamantapa which has several scenes from
Ramayana on its ceiling. There is a Lakshmimantapa with some frescos, which depict scenes from the '
Bhagavata'. Some teerths are seen adjoining the temple. The temple conducts special
pujas during
Dussehra and Sankranti.
