Osmania University in
Hyderabad was established in 1918. Regarded as the seventh oldest in India, the university was the third in south India. With over a 500 strong faculty and staff, it functions as a multidisciplinary university, offering varied courses in the fields of humanities, arts, sciences, social sciences, law, engineering, technology, commerce, business management, information technology and oriental languages. It has been awarded the Five Star status by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) of the
University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India in the year 2001. The university’s Centre for Distance Education offers quality education to far-flung areas in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
