Mir Tahniath Ali Khan of
Asaf Shahi dynasty was born on October 11, 1827. He ascended the throne on May 18, 1857, after the death of his father,
Mir Farkhanda Ali Khan. The great Indian Mutiny (First war of Independence) started on July 17, 1857, during his reign in the north.
The territory was divided into 5 subas and 16 districts, during his rule. Some reforms were carried out by a minister named Sir Salar Jung who included the establishment of a Government central treasury in 1855. Mir Tahniath Ali Khan passed away at the age of 42 years on February 26, 1869.
