Located in
Khammam District, the construction of the Khammam Fort was initiated in 950 by the
Kakatiyas and it was completed by the
Reddis in the 14th century. In the 15th century the
Qutub Shahis, renovated the fort and thus the fort symbolizes both Hindu and Muslim culture. There are a few temples in the fort. The fort is situated at
Khammam town and is built on a hill called Stambhadri.
Khammam town is about 257 km east of Hyderabad.
