Warangal is located in northern
Andhra Pradesh. In the 12th century, Warangal was the ancient capital of the
Kakatiyas, an Andhra dynasty that flourished. Earlier, this place was known as Orugallu. The district has an area of 12846 sq km.

The best season to make a visit is from September to February. Carpets, blankets, and silk products are the various items that are produced. Pembarthi Metal Crafts, Banjara Fabrics, Warangal Rumals, Warangal Carpets and Nakashow Paintings are the important handicrafts.
