Kannappa Gudi Temple

Kannappa Gudi Temple is a unique temple dedicated to Kannappa, a great devotee of Lord Shiva. This temple lies atop a picturesque hillock, eastern side of the famous Kalahastishwara Temple in Chittoor District.

This single celled temple houses the beautiful idol of Kannappa. Devotees believe that this shrine is the place where Kannappa gouged out his eyes to stop the bleeding from the shivlinga. A shivlinga has been placed outside the temple under a tree to commemorate this incident. Kannappa Gudi Temple receives a steady stream of devotees throughout the year.

Sri Kalahasti Railway Station is the nearby railhead and the nearest airport is at Tirupati.
