One of the biggest zoos in Asia, Nehru Zoological Park at
Hyderabad is on the Hyderabad-
Bangalore highway. Over 250 species of animals and birds are found here. Prominent among them are the Indian rhino, Asiatic lion, tiger, panther, giraffe,
gaur, a number of deer and antelopes. A safari park is set here where the visitors can go in protected vans and see various animals in their natural surroundings. A natural history museum with huge models of dinosaur, an aquarium and a children's amusement park are the other attractions of the zoo.
Nehru Zoological Park lies in the Bahadurpura area on the way to the N G Ranga Agricultural University in Rajendranagar.
The zoo is opened from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs and closed on Mondays.
