Red Spurfowl (Galloperdix spadicea) is a quite secretive bird of dry forests and cultivation. It is a fat 36 cm long bird with red facial skin patch and red legs. The male has a gray head and neck, the rest of the plumage is reddish-brown in color with white scaling.
The bird is a terrestrial species. It forages among the leaf litter of the forest floor for various seeds, fallen fruit and insects.
