Korku tribe is found in
Sehore District of
Madhya Pradesh and Melghat region of
Maharashtra. They are forest dwellers and speak a dialect known as 'Korku'. The tribe is renowned for its two traditional dance forms namely Chattkore and Bhavai.
The community members mainly engage in forest wealth collection. They are also expert in the craft of bamboo.
Korku tribe celebrates a large festival known as Karam after the harvest. A choice of folk dances and songs are the main highlights of this festival.
