Koothattukulam is a
panchayat area located in the
Muvattupuzha Taluk, towards the south-east corner of
Ernakulam District. The picturesque village spreads over area of 2319 hectares and lies 17 km to the south of Muvattupuzha town and 38 km to the north of
Kottayam. This hamlet is surrounded by Palakuzha, Thirumaradi, Veliyannur and Elanji panchayats.
The people living in this village are generally engaged in agriculture, with small to medium landholdings. Rubber, coconut, arecanut, ginger, turmeric, kacholam and pepper are the main cash crops of Koothattukulam.
