Kelavarapalli Dam, built across
Ponniar River is used for irrigation purposes. The dam is 13.5 m high covering 3237 hectares of land surrounding it. Kelavarapalli Dam is famous for its vantage points for bird watching. A wide variety of resident and migratory birds are found in the vicinity of the dam. The dam has a beautiful park with playing equipments for children.
