Kamala River originates in the mountains near Sindhuli Garhi and takes a southern direction. Tao River and Baijnath Khola River merges with Kamala at Maini. It then flows through the plains of
Darbhanga District. One of its branch leads to
Bagmati River whereas another leads to
Kosi River.
