Fire-tailed Sunbird (Aethopyga ignicauda) is a small bird of about 16 cm in length. It has a flaming red nape, mantle and long tail with red uppertail coverts – which gives the bird its name. Its breast and belly are yellow streaked with red. Its crown and throat are iridescent blue black. Female has orange yellow wash on the belly and brownish orange tail sides.
Fire-tailed Sunbird can be seen in the Buxa National Park, West Bengal.
