Dharang, a center for pilgrimage in the Kutch region, is about 40 km from
Bhuj in
Gujarat. The pilgrimage centers around the Samadhi (mausoleum) of Mekan dada, a spiritual leader and philanthropist of the area. He was also a good poet who composed several hymns based on the Hindu philosophy. This saintly man is worshipped as the re-incarnation of Lakshman by the Ahir community. Thousands of devotees come to Dharang to pray at this holy site. The annual fair here during February-March draws huge crowds.
