Blue-naped Pitta (Pitta nipalensis) is a very secretive and skulking bird of about 25 cm in size, generally found in Nepal, north-east India and Bangladesh.
The male bird has a blue hind-crown and nape, fulvous forehead and eye-coverts. Female has a smaller greenish-blue patch on its nape and fulvous forehead, which extends up to the crown. It is a rare bird.
Blue-naped Pitta can be seen in the Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary, Sikkim.
